3 Basic Service Models of Cloud Computing
Infrastructure as a service (IaaS): Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a cloud computing service that lets organizations rent resources like servers, network security features, and data centers.
Platform as a service (PaaS): A cloud computing model that provides customers a complete cloud platform—hardware, software, and infrastructure—for developing, running, and managing applications without the cost, complexity, and inflexibility that often comes with building and maintaining that platform on-premises.
Software as a service (SaaS): All of the underlying infrastructure, middleware, app software, and app data are located in the service provider’s data center. The service provider manages the hardware and software. SaaS allows you to get quickly up and running with an app at minimal upfront cost.
